Well...

Welp, I tolerated her long enough. We're friends now. She likes to lick me and she likes to cuddle. Because she likes to cuddle under the covers so much, Mamma does some things in the bed during the daytime, and I Super love that! We get to have nappies in bed, under covers! We both snore loud, but I can do it louder. I totally win.

Yes, I know I have scary face on in this photograph, but I was playing and having fun. I was making that "Nyah Nyah Nyah!" playtime sound. All this girl wants to do is cuddle! Every opportunity she gets she licks my face, or nuzzles me like she's wiping her nose on me, or scoots closer so her butt is touching me. Sometimes she's so gross.

We get copious amounts of food around here lately! For some reason Cera; whose full name is Cera Issa Hapi R***** by the way, gets an extra meal everyday, so I get one too! I'm pretty sure it's the same amount of food I normally get everyday, but broken up into smaller chapters,  but that's okay because I love meal times and there are more of them. Mamma thinks she's a tad skinny, so we're trying to fatten her up.

As you all know, I'm a teeny weenie bit snarky at times, so the first time I woke from a nap and noticed I was all curled around her, I was like "WTF!?! Girl, get on the other side of my Mamma! We don't share blankets and cozy in this house! Have you lost your marbles!??" but she looked so comfy, and she was keeping me really warm too. So, whatever, I let her stay there. Invading my privacy bubble, but keeping my bellies warm.

We are now currently napping on the couch. Well, Cera is, I'm telling Mamma what to write. Mamma's cold because we have all the blankets within reaching distance. She wants to turn the heat up, but Cera follows her everywhere, and she wants her to stay snuggled in next to me under the covers. The same blanket, even!

When Mamma finds a home for this girl, I kinda hope they keep in touch. I would like to have cuddles and  nap times under covers in the future.

I Tolerate Stuff

This is my new foster puppy.
I think we're calling her Cera.

I tolerate her sleeping on Mamma at night for night time nap time.

I tolerate her sharing my couch for afternoon nappies.

She's no Mace, but close! She didn't like to even walk yesterday, but now she's a pro. We went on a couple long walks today and a bunch of short ones. She made no peepees in the house. She figured out stairs, she can go Up and Down! She hogs Mamma's lap and she's a very good snuggler.

I Am Spankful

I even got to have seconds!

I am thankful for Sean Casey Animal Rescue for saving me when I was homeless and scared and very very cold. I am thankful for Mamma for finding me and taking me home. I am thankful for all my best friends, and Aunties & Uncles, and Nonnas. I am thankful for my awesome new home and the park they installed down the street for my enjoyment. I am thankful for crunchy leaves on the ground and crunchy leaves in piles and crunchy leaves blowing all around the place. I am thankful for my foster puppy finding his family so I can have my Mamma and her lap all to myself again. I am thankful for laps. I am thankful for my warm and cushy beds, and soft blankets. I am thankful for mine and my Mamma's health and happiness, and Punkinhead's too. (<--- Ma made me add that part.) I am thankful for car rides, and not taking baths. I am thankful for Practice Times and reward treats. I am thankful for naps in the sun. I am thankful for my toybox full of amazing toys and crunch bones.
But, I'm allergic to salad.
I am thankful for things that make my butt wiggle. I am thankful for butt rubs, and under the chin rubs, and ear rubs, and neck rubs, and belly rubs. I am thankful for peanut butter, hot dog treats, and green beans. I am thankful for the gobble gobble turkey that gave his life so I could nom, and I am thankful for seconds. I am thankful for all of you, all my friends and family. I love you very much! <3

If pictures are worth 1000 words,

and this is a collection of pictures with words...
Have I won the internets!?
Just to be safe- do not divide by zero!
If you must divide by zero, please wait until Friday, as my Mamma is cooking for Remember-The-Original-Americans-Day and I am looking forward to the dog cookies she promised me.

Welp. My foster puppy Mace went to his furrever home recently. I was pretty upset, and I missed some of the things we used to do.

He wasn't allowed on the couch during the day, on account of our crazy behavior. We would play all rough like and Mamma thought we would rip up the couch like RRaawwwrrr!
As soon as the lights were turned off we would have "Night Time Couch Cuddle Time" and he knew he was allowed up on Mamma's lap for pre bedtime naps.

Sometimes Mace would forget that it's mellow time and headbutt Ma with Hulk like enthusiasm.
But real quick he would relax, and we would both sprawl out on Mamma's lap. We liked to see who could snore loudest.

Even though I miss my foster puppy, I'm happy that I have Mamma's lap all to myself. I crawl on her with my jab-jab elbows, and she imagines she has four Masons on her with jab-jabby elbows, and then I snore. I crawl in his cage sometimes and sniff his smell, but it's nice to have my Mamma's lap all for me.

Cool Story, Bro.

There is a surprise outside for me, you say?

As a great woman once said "What the Actual What!?!?"

Mace wasn't too sure about it.

But, we checked it out together.

Couch time. We have to cuddle to stay warm.

My Week In Photographs

Mamma doesn't like when we play on her.

This is Me and Mace playing tug on Mamma. She really hates that crap. Because we are ruining the couch, she has to put blankets and tapestries on it, but that doesn't even really protect it because we play hard core.

This is Mace getting stuck under said tapestry and then pretending he was a ghost. It took him a very long time to unfuck himself, and by then I no longer felt like playing.

This is what happens when Mamma talks on the phone with Auntie D for five minutes! While I sat on Mamma's lap like a well behaved angel, Mace does puppy crap like bark at the toy box to make the toys come alive and play with him, and then empty the friggen thing.

This is how I show Mamma that I'm still here when
Mace demands nightime naptime on her lap

This is not what it looks like. Get. Your. Minds. Out. Of. The. Gutters.

Just A Dog

From time to time, people tell me, "lighten up, it's just a dog,"
or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."

They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the
costs involved for "just a dog."

Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."

Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog,"
but I did not once feel slighted.

Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog,"
and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave
me comfort and reason to overcome the day.

If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand
phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."

"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust,
and pure unbridled joy.

"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that make me a
better person.

Because of "just a dog", I will rise early, take long walks and look
longingly to the future.

So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment
of all the hopes and dreams of the future,
the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.

"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away
from myself and the worries of the day.

I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog",
but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being
"just a man or woman."

So the next time you hear the phrase "just a dog"
just smile...
because they "just don't understand."

Something Something, It's Always Playtime Now.

Rather serious Mace, and stoked and awesome Me.

Hello friends! I hope everyone is doing awesome, as I'm sure you are! I wanted to introduce you to my foster puppy. He is almost 5 months old, and he is from Welcome, North Carolina. His name is Mason, but we like to call him Mace. His papers say he is a boxer/lab mix, which is code word for pit bull in some places where they put pitties to sleep right away. But we love Pit Bulls here, so he can be a little pittie puppy. He is a rather serious looking fellow sometimes, but just wait and I'll show you his goofy little toothy grin.
We got along good right away. I had to yell at him a couple times, but he learns. His first night here, he came running up to mamma and jumped on her lap with a Punkinhead claw sticking out of his head. He thinks it is ALWAYS Playtime. Like all the live long day. Sometimes Mamma will put him in the kitchen where his crate is when she can tell I need some quiet time. He is very smart, and when Mamma points to his crate and says "Inside" he goes right away. I get a lot of treats for doing the right things that I've always done, and then he copies me and gets one too and sometimes that pisses me off. He has ripped the bloody guts out of most of my stuffed toys and sometimes that pisses me off too. But I guess he can stay. For a little while.
Goofy Grin.

He likes to play fetch, which I find to be repetitive and boring, I would rather sniff stuff. But lately it is the funnest thing ever to pretend I'm not interested, and then go steal the ball to show him what a superior creature I am. If I don't rip it to shreds so he can never enjoy it, I lose interest eventually and let him have my slobbery sloppy seconds.

At first I was a little jealous when he would get on Mamma's lap for night time nap, and steal it. But now I realize it's more comfy at my spot by her feet anyway. Whenever I lay on her she says stuff like "SiameseTwin Needy Dog" and she moves me around muttering things like "Jab-Jab Elbows" and "Covered in Bruises". Unless I want to stare at her face, like when using my Jedi Mind Tricks for example, it's comfier where I can spread out and have my own couch space.
Ma, he's copying me!

He slept in bed with us for a couple nights. Me on one side of Mamma with a shit-ton of space, and him on the other with minimal space. But Mamma said something about she didn't like waking up with no covers and clinging to the edge of the mattress for dear life cuz someone hogs all the bed and kicks her in the kidneys. Whatever, it worked. So now he sleeps in the kitchen, where his crate is with a bunch of fluffy blankets and music playing very softly. The last couple nights it's been Sade, and I approve of that.
Today we went to the dog park that never has any dogs playing in it, and had our own little outside party! Our friend Sweetpea joined us and we had a lot of good fun that made us all tired puppies, so Mamma was very happy. Mostly Sweetpea just ran around with the ball and Mace chased her while I got butt rubs from Sweetpea's Dad. Sometimes I think he thinks I'm his Mom. I told him I had my tubes tied, but I would be his foster Mom until he found his forever home, which I hope is as awesome as mine.
Sweetpea is a ball hog.

We have learned that even though he is crate trained, he hates to be alone. Understandably, since he's already been abandoned by his person before he was even five months old. If he's baby-gated in the kitchen and he doesn't see me, he screams and cries. He doesn't really give a shit about my Mamma being nearby, but he likes me here with him. Even if we are in separate rooms. I think that's nice. So when Mamma goes to the shelter, she pulls my bed out just a little bit so when I lay in it he can see me and I can see him. One time we had to help my Nonna with stuff, and left him gated in the kitchen with toys galore, and Kongs, and tricky puzzle toys, and music! All that amazing wonderful stuff. But he broke out, and had an amazing time ripping apart pillows, shredding scarves, and gutting my stuffed animals, and probably running laps around the house. He was waiting at the door for us with a huge mouthful of colourful feathers, an awesome goofy grin, and such a look of accomplishment that all Mamma could do was clean it up while trying not to laugh.
Welp, you know that time friends! I gotta go sniff, so I'm telling Mamma that I have to potty and it's an emergency! I'll just sniff a lot, and then do my real pees in about 15 minutes or so after we get back from this walk. I love you all! Light & Love & Belly Rubs!

Guess who's bizzack!?

This is me waiting for Hurricane Irene
Playdate!

Me and Sweetpea!
Hello Friends! It has been a really long time, I know! This whole year has been a lot of new stuffs. Mamma and I moved to a new place that is awesome. They put a big park right down the street from it, so I can romp and sniff all over the place everyday. I go to it at least every morning so I can do my poops. I also has my bed in a new spot. It's right under a window that gets amazing afternoon sun, I love to sleep in the sunshine! I has lots of new toys to play with too. One of them is called The Tornado! and it's fun to figure out. Mamma puts all sorts of goodies in it for me to find when she leaves. She puts all different things in there like green beans and homemade cookie pieces and hotdog! I do pretty good when she leaves me home, but I like it much better when she's here. I like it even more when one of my friends is here too with my Auntie. We have play dates at our house, and sometimes at his house where I act like a crazy fool, and sometimes have momentary lapses of insanity. I has two new best friends: Goblin and Sweetpea. They're both from my Ma's shelter so they're good guys. Sweetpea lives right upstairs, and Gobs lives just down the block! I have friends so close! That makes me super happy!
I love to play tug with Gobs!
Figured it out on the first try!

I know everybody was wondering where Lucca went. I just got the interwebs yesterday and updating my brog is the first thing I did! See how I love you guys so much!

Today is a really big day for me too, because I'm getting a foster brother! He's just a little guy puppy. My Mamma hasn't even seen any pictures of him yet. As long as he's well behaved and doesn't steal my bones, we're good. I think I'm gonna be a great foster sister.
Welp, I promise not to go away for another long time, friends. I hope you are all well and happy and awesome!
  I love you!

Dog Laughter for my enjoyment!

I has separation anxiety when my Mamma leaves me home alone. I don't tear shit up (Usually, I did eat a bamboo knitting needle the other day) but I sometimes do little pees around the house. Little pees, like they're forced or scared outta me. When my Mamma gets going I follow her to where she puts up the baby gate and pout, and I'm usually right there waiting when Mamma comes back home. This makes her real sad.
My Mamma and one of her good friends Mae were talking about my anxiety while she is gone. Auntie Mae let my Mamma borrow a CD of Dog Laughter. The first time I heard it was when Mamma stopped home from a volunteer project, she was already gone for a couple hours at that time. When she put it on, I immediately lay down and put my head on my hands. I was all good. When Mamma got up to leave a few minutes later, I didn't follow her because I was so content. The best part is: When she got home... I was not waiting in the kitchen by the baby gate!
It is the coolest thing Ma has found for me lately! Even with my Calming Collar, and my chill pills, and my Lucca's Alone Time playlist I still get scared when my Mamma leaves me here alone. This CD has made the most positive difference of them all. If your puppies get scared when you're gone, check out the CD Laughing Dog!!! and see if they relax right away when you play it for them.
Next addition to my Make-Lucca-More-Comfortable-When-Mamma's-Gone-Arsenal is a  Thundershirt! I'm on my way to chill relaxing time. I will getting caught up on all my Beauty Sleep while Mamma is gone to the shelter.

My new bandanna of awesomeness

SnowPACALYPSE.

Sometimes I enjoy just walking and grazing on snow goodness.

The snow is as tall as I am and that makes me rather nervous. Mamma has to shovel a potty path every morning, and that's wonderful, but I have no yard to play and romp in anymore.

Not. Cool.
